The JHI Blog invites applications from upper-level undergraduates or recent college graduates for one editorial assistant position for the academic year of 2020-2021. The position is designed for students with an interest in digital publishing and intellectual history, and provides a comprehensive introduction to the world of academic blogs while collaborating with a diverse community of writers. It entails a commitment of approximately 2 hours a week in remote working and encompasses both regular administrative tasks, including content development, social media, web design, and analytics, as well as the opportunity to develop special projects that accommodate the applicant’s academic commitments and interests. The position carries a small honorarium.
All applicants will be reviewed for academic excellence, proven experience or interest in digital publishing, and the applicants’ alignment with JHI’s core commitment to maintaining a collaborative, interdisciplinary community of writers and readers of intellectual history across the arts and sciences.
Applicants with research and/or creative interests in the following areas are encouraged to apply: intellectual history, creative writing, documentary research, digital exhibit production, public history and art, photography, digital humanities, social media, and/or journalism.
